Responsibilities

Responsible for providing engineering services for calibrating and test automation of measuring and test equipment, including a wide variety of functions, to technical engineering, laboratory, and technician users. Creates, maintains, troubleshoots and advises on all engineering related responsibilities.

Key Functions

  • Develops applications specified by users in support of technical analysis and testing.
  • Develops tools for internal and external users to communicate with Metrology, and or/other organizations involved in laboratory testing.
  • Automates and improves existing paper processes to enforce business rules and increase efficiency.
  • Develops, maintains, and troubleshoots automated calibration procedures.
  • Advises in IT related decisions. Assists in documenting compliance standards.
  • May also include some database development and system administration.
  • May also include some web development and support.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
  • Understanding of programming and server architecture
  • Customer service orientation
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects
  • Must possess strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects at one time
  • Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational needs
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, to self-initiate activities, and to work within timelines
  • Must possess time management and project management skills

 

Physical Requirements/Work Environments

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer to complete activities.
  • Ability to communicate with individuals and groups in person, by phone and telepresence.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will typically work in an office environment.
