The Strategic and Global Awareness Directorate (Project West Wing) provides technical intelligence analysis and research for a broad range of national security space and intelligence community customers. The Space and Global Security (SGS) team works to provide unique, timely and independent assessments and counsel pertaining to current and future threats to the use of space as well as the effectiveness of strategic deterrents.



•             Take a technical leadership role in developing and maintaining a comprehensive awareness and understanding of current and developing threats to current and future U.S. national security space systems, architectures, and overall U.S. space superiority.  This position will emphasize the electronic warfare domain; however, other threat domains of interest include but are not limited to ground-based or orbital directed energy, kinetic energy, navwar, supply chain, sabotage, signals intercept, nuclear, cyber/spacecyber, conventional, and non-conventional threats throughout the world.

•             Proactively identify and articulate key threat issues and the impact of those issues on customer concerns; advocate for research tasks to address key national security counterspace, nuclear deterrence, and threat issues at both strategic and tactical levels.

•             Conduct analyses related to electronic warfare, jamming, communication link budgets, signal waveforms, and other associated areas.

•             Build and maintain relationships with other intelligence community and national security space organizations; facilitate the exchange of information and data to ensure the relevance of the group's analyses.

•             Collaborate with local and regional Directorate teams as well as reach back to engineering group staff to provide multi-disciplinary analyses, and comprehensive perspectives and capabilities over a wide breath of space and threat concerns. Engage with Aerospace and government personnel at a variety of levels to ensure that their information needs are met.

•             Protect and maintain the organization's reputation for integrity and unbiased, independent, high-quality analysis.

•             Define/refine data and information requirements and collection concepts.

•             Gather, assimilate, process and analyze a wide variety of open source and classified data and information, draw conclusions and extrapolate from the available information answers to both specific and general scientific and technical threat intelligence questions.

•             Prepare written technical reports and briefings; present results as required by customer.

•             Assist in identifying and acquiring (as well as occasionally developing) analytical tools.

•             Travel as required to contractor locations, government facilities, and other Aerospace offices.






•             At least a bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.  A master's degree is desirable.  The research skills demonstrated by a Doctorate-level degree are desirable.

•             Eight or more years of experience in a relevant scientific or engineering field with significant exposure to threat analysis, the intelligence community, and national security space community is highly desirable.

•             Demonstrated intellectual curiosity.

•             Proven ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal and working relationships with various levels of corporate staff, peers, management, program offices, customers, and contractors.

•             Demonstrated initiative and strong technical leadership skills, with proven ability to work with and build teams.

•             Strong demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

•             The ability to travel.

•             This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. Government.  U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

•             Must have or be eligible for a Top Secret clearance and SCI access.  Current TS/SCI preferred.
