Responsibilities

Aerospace is seeking a Manager for the Technology Evaluation & Analysis Section within the Information Systems and Cyber Division. This section typically consists of about ten software engineers responsible for providing space-related software and related technology expertise in support of program office and internal corporate requirements.

 

Key Functions

  • Obtaining and managing staff work assignments
  • Leading tasks and initiatives
  • Ensuring the technical quality of section products
  • Developing staff through formal and informal performance management, evaluation, mentoring, and tasking
  • Business functions (e.g., budget, resource allocation, corporate policies and practices)
  • Hiring
  • Providing software systems engineering skills and technical support to space and ground systems.
  • Applying skills and demonstrating adaptability in various areas that may include resolution of issues in software and related technologies. Support may include, but is not limited to software engineering; technology recommendations; risk assessments; flight and ground systems; system integration and interfaces; risk assessments; enterprise systems; model-based systems engineering; and other software system related areas and other related areas.
  • Participating in technical interchange meetings, reviews, briefings, and personal contact with Aerospace, customer, and contractor personnel.

Qualifications

Required

  • B. S. in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or other technical area of study
  • Eight or more years of technical experience in software engineering environments
  • Experience with the software system life-cycle
  • Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lead and delegate tasks and teams
  • Willing to hire, develop staff members and learn new skills
  • Able to work on multiple tasks concurrently
  • Strong written and oral communications and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Willing to travel occasionally
  • Current/active Secret security clearance is required. 

 

Preferred:

 

  • Current Top Secret/SCI level clearance
  • Advanced technical degree, Masters or PhD
