Responsibilities

The Digital and Integrated Circuit Electronics Department facilitates the utilization of electronics in space by the application of industry-standard tools and our specialized resources and expertise to the issues relevant in the implementation of Architectures/chip/board/unit/sub-system/system space-based electronics.

 

Key Functions

  • Review Fault Management aspects of Command and Data Handling designs, to provide our government customers assessments of space flight worthiness.
  • Review schematics, board stack-up, board artwork, worst case circuit analyses, cabling, interface design, test data to identify design deficiencies and provide recommendations for corrective action.
  • Provide technical assessment for hardware/software anomaly resolution.
  • Provide timely communication of technical issues, along with recommendations for corrective action, to program management and technical peers.
  • Provide clear and concise written reports, presentations, to program management and technical peers.
  • Travel is required (as needed to support tasks).

 

***This is a Part-Time position with limited hours per week***

***This role can be filled as an Aerospace Engineering Specialist or Senior Engineering Specialist***

Qualifications

Required

  • Degree in electrical engineering or related field from an accredited university.
  • At least 8 years of related experience after obtaining Bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret level clearance with SCI access (US Citizenship Required).
  • Understanding of Command & Data Handling electrical characterization, test methods and test equipment.
  • Understanding of standard digital circuit interface operation (CMOS, RS-422, LVDS, and ASIC/FPGA).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface effectively with program offices in a proactive manner.

 

Preferred

  • Current and active Government clearance.
  • Understanding of signal integrity, power integrity circuit mechanisms.

 

Required for consideration as a Senior Engineering Specialist 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and mentor more junior engineers. 
  • Degree in electrical engineering or related field from an accredited university.
  • At least 12 years of related experience after Bachelor's degree.
  • In-depth understanding of Command & Data Handling electrical characterization, test methods and test equipment.
  • In-depth understanding of standard digital circuit interface operation (CMOS, RS-422, LVDS, and ASIC/FPGA).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface effectively with program offices in a proactive manner.
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret level clearance with SCI access (US Citizenship Required).

 

Preferred for Sr. Engineering Specialist

  • Current and active Top Secret government clearance.
  • In-depth understanding of signal integrity, power integrity circuit mechanisms.
