Responsibilities

Since information is our deliverable, as data and documents increase in size and numbers, it's even more critical to be able to access information easily and quickly.   We are seeking an experienced programmer who can develop, implement, and integrate intuitive and robust search functionality for corporate IT systems.  In this role you will need to actively collaborate and communicate with stakeholders, users, and fellow engineers.  

 

Key Functions  
  

  • Lead the implementation of a new Elasticsearch solution for enterprise search.  This will involve transitioning our current search solution from a Google Search Appliance (GSA) to Elasticsearch. 
  • Provide project management for an on-premise Elasticsearch implementation using professional services. 
  • Implement a user interface for Elasticsearch with TwigKit.  This is currently being used as the user interface with our GSA search solution and needs to be transitioned to the new search solution and enhanced. 
  • Implement content processing for the enterprise search solution with a product like Aspire from Search Technologies. 
  • Work with data owners and end users to identify and address new search requirements. 
  • Identify, evaluate, and test new approaches to search. 
  • Identify and integrate corporate data sources into enterprise search. 
  • Provide primary application administration for the enterprise search solution, including installing and configuring software, maintaining and upgrading software, troubleshooting issues, and integrating search with other IT services. 
  • Collect and analyze search metrics to improve the enterprise search solution. 
  • Communicate and promote the enterprise search service and capabilities to end users. 
  • Manage ITIL processes related to enterprise search including ticket, request, change, and knowledge management. 

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in a computer science-related field.
  • Two or more years of programming experience. 
  • User interface development experience using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, jQuery, or similar tools. 
  • Experience managing project teams. 
  • Experience in requirements gathering, organization, and prioritization. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.  U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance.

 

Preferred

  • Experience with implementing or maintaining search technologies such as Google Search Appliance, Solr, Elasticsearch, or similar. 
  • Experience with ServiceNow for incident, knowledge, and change management.
  • Understanding of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) processes.  
  • Experience with agile methodologies and tools such as Scrum and Jira. 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 tools (Exchange, SharePoint, Skype) .
  • Current Secret clearance.
