Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking for an entry-level, early career Scientific Visualization Analyst to join our Visualization and Immersive Technologies Department. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA. 

 

The Visualization and Immersive Technologies Department (VITD) develops a wide variety of visualization applications using commercial UI frameworks and game engines to support civil, commercial, and national security space systems. VITD works with organizations seeking solutions for orbit visualization and planning, and many other facets of space and ground systems.

 

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Support industry-leading engineers and scientists in the development of maintainable high-performance applications as well as the development of GUI and web applications.
  • Support a wide variety of space and ground systems customers through algorithm and software development.
  • Design, develop, and support engineering analysis and algorithms for a variety of engineering focus areas, including technical/scientific computing, high-performance computing, simulations, and graphics visualization.
  • Work on teams to help define innovative next-generation space and ground systems

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • M.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace Engineering or related discipline.
  • 0-1 year of experience in using scientific analysis tools and frameworks for analysis and visualization.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in scientific programming languages. Proficiency in Matlab, C, Python or Fortran is highly desirable.
  • Agility to quickly learn new scientific analysis tools and run simulations
  • Ability to work both independently, and cooperatively within a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US government. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  •     Experience with researching and implementing papers and creating analysis prototypes in Matlab, Python, C, C++, or other scientific languages
