Responsibilities

The Enterprise Architecture and Planning Engineer will provide engineering support to the AF Space Superiority Directorate (SY) in architecture development and planning and ensure that programs remain integrated across the SY enterprise. 

 

This position can be filled at the level 2 or the level 3. 

 

Key Functions

  • Provide technical leadership to the government architecture team
  • Develop *OSC, *DSC, and *SSA strategies and architectures (*Offensive Space Control, *Defensive Space Control, and *Space Situation Awareness)
  • Identify technology development necessary for realizing architecture plans
  • Provide a technical interface between SY and other organizations such as the Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP), the Space Threat Assessment Center (STAC), and other SPOs at SMC
  • Support architecture modeling, simulation, and analysis
  • Briefings and strategic plans are to be developed as required, as well as mentoring the customer's junior personnel
  • This position requires travel (expected 20-30%)

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications for Level 2

  • B.S. in Engineering or related with a minimum of 8 years' applicable experience
  • Clear written and oral communication skills
  • Must have experience working with minimum supervision and interacting effectively with coworkers from other organizations, groups or companies
  • Current Top Secret/SCI clearance (with background investigation less than five years old)
  • Ability to travel as needed 

 

Required Qualifications for Level 3

  • B.S. in Engineering or related with a minimum of 12 years' applicable experience
  • Clear written and oral communication skills
  • Must have experience working with minimum supervision and interacting effectively with coworkers from other organizations, groups or companies
  • Current Top Secret/SCI clearance (with background investigation less than five years old)
  • Ability to travel as needed

 

Preferred

  • Experience in one of the following: systems architecture definition; space systems design development; and ground systems design/development
  • Experience with space or ground systems interface development
  • Experience with at least one DOD space or ground program
  • Experience with SSD programs  
  • DOD SAP (Special Access Program) clearance(s)
