Responsibilities

The Systems and Operations Assurance Department (SOAD) is the source of expertise in Operations and Facilities Engineering, Product and Process Assurance, and Manufacturing Engineering to our corporate customers. SOAD offers a diverse range of capabilities that enable and support the effective implementation of technical and programmatic mission assurance activities on spacecraft manufacturing/processing, launch, and the associated ground systems. We have a current need for a Product Assurance Engineer to provide technical support for the evaluation, verification, and analysis activities related to the manufacturing, testing, and integration of hardware used on spacecraft and launch vehicles.

 

Key Functions

  • Support the development and evaluation of program quality assurance requirements
  • Perform audits and assessments of QMS and related processes
  • Evaluate corrective/preventive action and root cause analysis of hardware assembly, integration, and test anomalies
  • Support technical reviews for hardware design, manufacturing, and test

 

This position is available as a Senior Member of Technical Staff or Engineering Specialist.

Qualifications

Requirements Senior Member of Technical Staff

 

  • B.S. degree in engineering or related field from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a quality or manufacturing engineer in the high-reliability manufacturing of space/aerospace hardware
  • Experience using manufacturing execution systems/databases (work orders, nonconformance reports, engineering drawings, bills of material, etc.)
  • Experience auditing manufacturing build documentation and/or end item data packages (EIDP) prior to closure and/or delivery to the next higher level of assembly
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance. US citizenship is required 
  • Ability to travel to contractor and/or government facilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and on teams
  • Ability to lead and/or support multiple projects

 

Preferred

  • Experience with QMS standards including ISO 9001 and/or AS9100
  • Experience supporting program management reviews including PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, and PSR
  • Experience supporting anomaly and failure investigations including MRB and FRB
  • Current and active TS/SCI clearance 

 

 

Requirements for Engineering Specialist

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a quality or manufacturing engineer in the high-reliability manufacturing of space/aerospace hardware

 

Preferred

  • Advanced degree from an accredited institution
  • Experience working in a space systems integration and test environment
  • Experience working with suppliers and subcontractors to resolve technical issues
  • Current and active TS/SCI clearance
