The Launch Operations Division is looking for an enthusiastic, highly adaptable leader with demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills to manage the Vulcan launch team.  The chosen individual will be responsible for guiding the Aerospace team and collaborating with the USAF Launch Enterprise Systems Division to certify the new Vulcan launch system to provide launch services for future National Security Space missions.
Key Functions 
• Provide technical, programmatic and management leadership to the Air Force Certification of ULA's Vulcan Launch System 
• Work closely with Air Force and contractor management to identify programmatic, technical and mission assurance challenges and develop timely, high quality solutions
• Ensure appropriate technical support is provided to non-recurring certification of ULA launch system, effectively utilizing resources within LOD for program management and ETG for detailed technical evaluation
• Ensure timely, high quality and accurate reporting of program information to senior Aerospace and Air Force management
• Ensure all Aerospace technical positions and recommendations are timely, accurate and executable
• Maintain and strengthen close teaming relationships across LOD organizations, with ETG and launch site organizations, as well OSL, IRRT,  AF and Contractor personnel
• Establish organization structure and staffing
• Actively engage with the LOD management team to effective utilize experienced division personnel on a part time basis to fill out the Vulcan program office team during an extended, multiyear transition period
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety and security regulations and guidelines



• Bachelors degree in engineering or science
• Experience in launch vehicle systems design, development, assembly, test, and operations
• 15 yrs or more of relevant experience in engineering and management, with progressively increasing responsibilities
• Demonstrated program management, delegation and planning skills
• Demonstrated skills in staffing, mentoring, budgeting, and team building
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams in solving complex technical and programmatic problems and forge well-founded technical recommendations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills; ability to interface effectively with senior Aerospace, Air Force, and contractor leadership
• Ability to travel
• Current Secret Clearance, ability to obtain SCI access
• Advanced degree 
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment to enable utilization of LOD personnel as an extension of the streamlined Vulcan program office team
• Experience in the execution of Aerospace mission assurance processes
- Launch Verification experience highly desired
- Air Force New Entrant Certification experience highly desired
• Familiarity with Atlas V , Delta IV and Vulcans systems
• Familiarity with all pertinent technical disciplines, to include structures, propulsion, avionics, software, systems analysis, systems engineering, test and launch operations
• Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries to effectively share resources
• Ability to build effective relationships with Government customers and contractors
