Responsibilities

We are seeking a Portfolio Architect and Engineer to lead the space combat operations definition and implementation for cross-program solutions.  The role supports SMC directed implementation of the Space Warfighting Construct (SWC) though operational integration of SMC acquisitions for the warfighter.  This position will provide technical leadership for integrating new ConOps, capabilities, partnerships and innovation for an operational approach to integration of capabilities. 
 
Portfolio Architecture Combat Operations Lead will act as technical authority, consultant, primary investigator, or team leader. May lead or organize interfaces between customers' and Aerospace technical and management staff. Coordinates large-scale technical efforts across program/project lines.

 

Key Functions


•    Outreach to operators, Combat Development Division, NSDC and other users
•    Develop tactics, techniques and procedures to assist the space community
•    Work with Project West Wing and other mission partners to maintain custody of the threat baseline and projections
•    Incorporate Digital Engineering tools to provide a common implementation and source of authority for interfacing across programs and mission partners
•    Regular interactions with the mod/sim and analysis communities to ensure seamless integration of data products into analysis outputs for decision makers
 

Qualifications

Required

 

  • A bachelor's degree in science, math or engineering 
  • 12 years + relevant progressive work experience in system operations, battle management, command and control or related discipline
  • Broad familiarity with SMC and Air Force Space Command organizations, missions, architectures and systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work in a team environment
  • Ability to build and/or maintain substantive rapport with Aerospace peers and government customers
  • Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes utilizing objective facts
  • Excellent written communication skills - can organize complex materials and concepts in a manner that is clear and logical
  • Excellent verbal communication skills - clear, concise, persuasive; builds consensus through speaking; polished, professional style
  • Some travel is required
  • Eligible for a Top Secret clearance and SCI access

 
Preferred

 

  • Field experience in threat analysis, space operations or other military operations 
  • An excellent personal technical reputation and a record of personal technical achievement 
  • Experience with Space Warfighting Construct and digital engineering tools
  • The ability to work independently in developing needs and executing in an uncertain environment
  • Experience with requirements generations, tracking, verification and validation
  • Ability to organize and execute high quality, substantive events including technical forums, major studies and executive presentations
  • Technical depth in multiple space mission areas
  • Familiarity with Aerospace Federal Government  and Civil/Commercial customers
  • Current TS/SCI and eligibility for SAP
