Aerospace Payroll Specialist is a leading contributor to the payroll areas of operations, tax, compliance and systems, to ensure the timely and accurate weekly payroll processing of approximately 4500 company personnel. This role is focused on the complete representation of the payroll process, payroll disciplines and participating as a leading contributor to five or more payroll disciplines (payroll tax, payroll accounting, payroll systems, special payments and compensations, leadership and mentoring, etc). This role is analytical in nature and solution oriented. You will realize a non-management leadership responsibility to an area of the payroll department (compliance, systems or operations) a process or multiple payroll disciplines as defined by management and business needs.Analyzes, audits, reconciles and resolves complex payroll processing and employee payroll issues to ensure smooth payroll processing. Ensures payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policy, generally accepted accounting principles, and federal, state and IRS regulations. Responds to auditing and regulatory inquiries. May work with system programmers to achieve solutions or administer company payroll system with outside service provider.



  • Research and forecast changes in regulations, policy and trends for management consideration
  • Analyze payroll, human resource and accounting data for alignment to payroll/systems objectives timely and accurately
  • Leadership skills with a willingness to validate, training and mentor
  • Identify and incorporate known payroll related changes into the day-to-day processing for the team
  • Communicate quickly and effectively with payroll team and management of foresee issues or inconsistently observed in implementation, requests or processing
  • Research and interpret federal and state wage and hour regulations as they relate to payment processing and customer care issues presented daily within the department
  • Strong knowledge of payroll system and company policies
  • Strong knowledge in the payroll disciplines of Payroll Accounting and Payroll Tax
  • Knowledge in payroll disciplines such as, Payroll Systems, Payroll Leaves and Special Payments, etc., is a plus
  • Heavy customer care follow-up and documentation of implemented changes
  • Other payroll related task as determined by management and business needs



  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 7 or more years of multi-state payroll experience for a company with more than 1,000 employees
  • ADP or Payroll service provider experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office application including (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Must be attentive to confidentiality and privacy demands
  • Must be capable of standing in for management on pending initiatives, projects, implementations, etc. and share the information with management and the team for awareness




  • A related professional certification is preferred, such as FPC, CPP or CPA, or Master’s Degree in an unrelated area
  • Working knowledge of Payroll Laws 
  • SAP or other ERP systems experience
  • Experience with Workday
  • Experience with system implementation
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must work well and effectively in a team environment
