Aerospace is seeking a mid-career Aerospace Engineer to provide expertise in modeling, simulation, or flight software development and testing.  The ideal candidate will have strong background in guidance, control and navigation, including software programming.  The position requires working independently with both internal and external customers and with technical support, as a technical authority, consultant, primary investigator, or project leader.  A strong candidate will have ability to lead or organize technical efforts or project teams, and mentor less experienced staff.


Key Functions

  • Develop closed-loop simulations, testing frameworks, and analysis tools for use in validating flight software for aerospace vehicles
  • Perform studies, assessments, and evaluations of vehicle guidance, navigation, and control systems, including avionics, flight software and embedded software
  • Conduct specialized technical studies, research and development
  • Initiate development of advanced analytical techniques, concepts, and/or design criteria for subsystems
  • May lead project teams within a department
  • Provide technical advice to management, customers, and contractors
  • Support multiple programs and/or activities and frequently acts as point-of-contact for technical activities



  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline
  • 8 or more years of engineering experience
  • Experience developing models and simulations for dynamic systems
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required



  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related technical disciplines
  • Experience with analysis of control systems, multibody dynamics simulation and testing
  • Experience with software development for engineering applications
  • Familiarity with failure analysis
  • Familiarity with software development processes
  • Familiarity with embedded control systems
  • Working knowledge of spacecraft or launch vehicle design
  • Working knowledge of C/C++
