Responsibilities

The Industrial Security Specialist II is responsible for providing security support ensuring classified information is properly safeguarded. The position provides on-site support for all security actions in accordance with corporate and governmental policies and directives. The Industrial Security Specialist II reports to the Special Programs Security Manager in El Segundo, CA. The selected candidate for this position will be responsible for SAP security, supporting multiple customers within the Security & Safety Directorate. We are looking for an Industrial Security Specialist to provide security expertise in a diverse Special Programs environment. Duties include the following:

 

  • Administers, executes and ensures adherence to company and government regulations, policies and procedures regarding the protection of certain programs.
  • Ability to interact professionally with various levels of personnel with varying experience
  • Compiling and submitting nomination requests
  • Create and maintain file folders, enter necessary data into systems, and maintain personnel security files for access.
  • Candidate must be skilled with JPAS, and other customer personnel databases
  • Managing adjudicative decision notifications
  • Reporting required security information to customer (i.e. Security violations and adverse information reporting)
  • Provide metrics on SAP security processes to management
  • Participation in customer visits and semiannual self-inspections
  • Security education which includes initial program briefings, debriefings, and annual refresher briefings
  • Maintaining all organizational records/files pertaining to personnel security, foreign travel, and accesses
  • Respond to customer requests/inquiries related to SAP security issues as assigned
  • Oversee programs for customers and ensuring customer’s requirements are met
  • Other duties as assigned, including Communications Security (COMSEC), badging, and visitor control

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
  • Must be willing to be on-call after hours and on weekends as assigned
  • Customer service orientation
  • Current TS/SSBI is required.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree, or 8 or more years of relevant experience with High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of the National Industrial Security Operating Manual, NISPOM.
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects
  • Must possess strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects at one time
  • Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational needs
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

 

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer to complete activities.
  • Ability to communicate with individuals and groups in person, by phone and telepresence.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may visit locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces, and may be exposed to seasonal elements.
  • Intermittent travel to gain access to work areas and buildings
