The Director of Innovation Operations will provide leadership, planning, and direction for innovation operations activities for the iLab Office and iLab Initiative.  Innovation operations entails the execution of special projects aimed at game-changing innovations, contributing to building an innovative corporate culture, and support the transition of Aerospace technical products and innovations into operational use. 


Key Functions

  • Provide leadership and project management support to special projects sponsored by the iLab Office
  • Manage a portfolio of special projects sponsored by the iLab Office
  • Assess the technical and programmatic progress and risks of projects sponsored by the iLab Office
  • Provide regular guidance and feedback to project leads to enable successful outcomes
  • Work with project leads to capture, document, and message technical advances and innovations
  • Develop, plan, and manage internal and external outreach events
  • Create and execute plans, budgets, and schedules for special projects managed directly by the iLab Office
  • Develop and manage relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, partners, and customers
  • Work jointly with the Director of Innovation Development and Director of ATIP to support our innovation lifecycle
  • Contribute to the generation and exploitation of the company’s intellectual property
  • Manage the Innovation Operations team



  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in project management in technical relevant areas
  • Experience with hardware, software, simulation, and analysis
  • Experience working directly with at least three different major customers (e.g. AF, MDA, etc.)
  • Proven ability to regularly interact with all levels of internal staff, customers, stakeholders, and partners
  • Demonstrated acumen in maturing ideas to operational systems
  • Extensive experience working on special projects
  • Current TS/SCI



  • Experience developing processes at a corporate level
  • Experience developing advanced technology demonstration and operational systems
