Responsibilities

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Cost & Schedule Risk Analyst. The qualified candidate will become part of the Integrated Cost and Schedule Analysis (iCASA) Department. iCASA resides in the Systems Engineering Division and conducts cross-program analysis of cost, schedule, and risk in support of acquisition tasks for the Department of Defense, Intelligence Agencies, and Civil and Commercial customers.

 

 

Key Functions 

  • Participate in engineering trade studies; provide cost engineering and schedule analysis/estimation support utilizing industry and Aerospace-developed tools and metrics
  • Work with senior staff to develop/enhance/maintain Aerospace-developed cost and schedule tools
  • Develop schedule risk assessments; identify risks, critical path, interdependencies, disconnects and conflicts, and schedule slip
  • Develop and maintain program schedules using MS Project for Aerospace developed projects; develop baseline schedules and provide timely technical recommendations to management and customers through technical briefings and reports
  • Support senior staff with data collection and normalization activities; define and capture technical, cost, schedule, and programmatic data for the department’s repository; synthesize data and apply statistical techniques to establish cost and schedule estimating relationships
  • Collaborate with senior staff on cost and schedule research projects; capture corporate knowledge through the development of technical reports and briefings
  • Presentation of cost and schedule results to staff, management, and customers

 

 

This position is available as an Aerospace Corporation Associate Member of Technical Staff or Member of Technical Staff 

Qualifications

 

Required for Associate Member of Technical Staff 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, or related field
  • Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and communicate effectively as part of a team and display strong initiative in carrying out assignments
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, US citizenship is required

 

 

    Required for Member of Technical Staff 

  • Advanced degree or a minimum of 5 years of professional experience relevant to cost and/or schedule risk analyses
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer interface skills are needed, as is a demonstrated ability to interact with customer and contractor personnel in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of space, launch, or ground systems and use of industry cost and schedule tools
    (e.g. SEER, PRICE, SSCM, USCM; MS Project, Polaris, Primavera, and related tools)

 

 

 

    Preferred 

  • Advanced programming skills (VBA, MATLAB, Object Oriented, etc.)
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
