Responsibilities

The Principal Director of Corporate Communications supports The Aerospace Corporation strategy in the design and delivery of corporate strategic imperatives through communications plans and campaigns.  This position is responsible for the delivery of effective communication plans across internal and external audiences including employees at multiple locations, and media, industry, and customer communities. The position manages the Center of Excellence functional leaders that include Corporate Social Responsibility, project management, change management initiatives, digital communications, photo and video, events, and graphics and design. The position will have a strong preference to be located in El Segundo, California, with team members located in multiple sites. This position reports to the Executive Director of Corporate Communications.  

 

Key Functions

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to build corporate awareness, support corporate objectives, and maintain corporate branding among customers and employees 
  • Partner with department leaders who develop  communication campaigns designed to support corporate strategic imperatives and the key projects 
  • Ensure day to day support of campaigns in the areas of writing, editing, design, and production of external information materials
  • Partner with the corporate division to develop synthesized messaging focusing on corporate technical capabilities
  • Develop integrated employee communications strategies
  • Develop a communications strategy for corporate sponsored events and other events 
  • Partners with public relations leaders in advising senior leadership
Qualifications

Requirement 

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • 12 or more years of relevant experience in a corporate environment 
  • Experience in communications planning and strategy, media affairs, public relations, branding, and change management 
  • Superb writing and project management skills; in-depth knowledge of communications disciplines and metrics
  • Knowledge of the national security space, government, and/or military communities 
  • Requires ability to travel 
  • This role requires the ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret / SCI clearance. This is issued by the US government and US citizenship is required. 

 

Preferred

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Candidate to be located or relocate to El Segundo, California
