Responsibilities

The vice president, Strategic Space Operations is responsible for managing a broad portfolio supporting Aerospace customers in critical mission areas. In this role, the vice president will serve as the principal interface to senior customers at Air Force Space Command (AFSPC), Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP), the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center and Air Force Global Strike Command.  The role includes the oversight and guidance of Aerospace support to several major mission areas including space security, strategic deterrent modernization, and enterprise architecture supporting the Space Warfighting Construct. The successful candidate will lead a team of engineers, scientists and supporting staff to accomplish this mission. 

 

This position will report to the Defense Systems Group, Senior Vice President and will be located in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

 

Key Functions

 

  • Provides executive leadership to senior-level customers across the national security space enterprise and across the corporation
  • Routinely engages with AFSPC senior leadership, SSDP Director, and community leaders to ensure that Aerospace is addressing and executing well on our customer's most critical problems
  • Works across the corporation to build and maintain strong relationships between the Engineering and Technology Group and the corporate program offices
  • Provides technical expertise and consults with senior management regarding recommendations on pertinent engineering issues
  • Leads a team of technical experts and support staff to accomplish Aerospace’s strategic imperatives and achieve mission success

Qualifications

Required

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical discipline
  • Top secret security clearance
  • 15 years of technical experience
  • 10 years of direct people management
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of customers and corporate staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams to accomplish mission objectives

 

Preferred

 

  • Master’s degree in engineering or other technical discipline
  • SCI Access
