Responsibilities

Aerospace is looking for a Director to lead and manage the Software Implementation & Integration Department (SIID), to include hiring, staffing projects, employee development, performance management, technical guidance and review of employee tasks and products, determination of salary actions, and management of capital and overhead budgets.

 

Key Functions

  • Provide strategic direction to the department in growing the skill sets, lab capabilities, and branching out to new customers.
  • Manage and guide the staff’s careers to include succession planning and mentoring.
  • Provide software engineering technical expertise for software and systems for DoD, Civil, Commercial, and IC software enterprises.
  • Use quantitative approaches for management of software acquisition.
  • Perform software mission assurance.
  • Provide technical expertise in software implementation and integration (e.g., Cloud, Agile, DevOps), flight software, and data/database development.
  • Work with Aerospace program offices to ensure expectations are met and that skills sets are appropriate for the task.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with counter-parts in program offices across NSG, CSG, DSG, SSG, and SPO, and etc., including ETG.
  • Create service offerings for the department that can be used by the program offices.
  • Ensure that staff’s work products are of expected quality and meet customer timelines.

Qualifications

Required 

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or related technical discipline
  • Strong technical leadership skills
  • Demonstrated experience in creating a strategic vision and executing it.
  • Successful track record of leading and building teams.
  • Strong technical background and a clearly demonstrated expertise in software engineering, software architecture, software development, software development processes, and software design methods.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to tactfully advise decision makers
  • Commitment to company goals and objectives 
  • Current Top Secret/SCI security clearance with SSBI and CI polygraph.

 

Preferred

  • An advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • A broad technical background and clearly demonstrated expertise in software engineering: examples include but are not limited to software architecture frameworks, service-oriented architectures, model-based software engineering (MBSE), software prototyping, and data engineering.
  • Experience on critical, large scale, large team systems or software intensive systems for space.
  • Experience across the entire software lifecycle, from inception, through design, development, testing and deployment.
  • Experience supporting a program office
