The Performance Modeling and Analysis Department (PMAD) focuses on the modeling, analysis, and optimization of orbits, satellite access, and system performance at all levels for space architectures. We develop sensor models and system visualizations; perform system and architecture performance assessments; and perform orbital coverage, geolocation, and communications analyses.  We develop and maintain special-purpose software to support our analyses.  PMAD software developers apply object-oriented and parallel processing techniques to our software to leverage the corporation’s high-performance computing resources. We are looking for a Space Architecture Performance Analyst to:



Key Functions: 


  • Develop high-performance technical computing applications in the areas of space system modeling and architecture performance assessment
  • Develop and implement algorithms, including parallel algorithms, which exploit the corporate high-performance compute clusters
  • Work with department analysts to develop new algorithms and processes to extend tool capabilities
  • Design new software tools, and re-design existing tools to take advantage of object-oriented structures
  • Maintain and update existing software and convert tool functionality to current generation languages, structures, and operating systems
  • Develop and apply graphical user interfaces as appropriate
  • Modify and maintain computer code resident on Linux and Windows platforms as needed
  • Work both independently and on small teams; interact with program office and government customers
  • Duties will include routine documentation of work in the form of user manuals and software documentation, regular status reports on progress, and occasional presentations before management, colleagues and customers






  • BS degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field
  • A minimum of eight years of technical experience 
  • Experience with numerical analysis and with the mathematics and algorithms and data structures associated with high-performance technical computing
  • Significant aptitude and demonstrated skills in object-oriented design, C++, and C
  • Ability to interface with Python, Fortran, and other languages
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Dependability and good interpersonal skills
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance which is issued by the U.S. government.  U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.






  • Graduate degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field
  • Experience with parallel/cluster computing
  • Experience with GUI development
