Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you like to apply system engineering, hardware design and delivery of a challenging space design problems? Do you want to contribute to the success of a vital national space system unique payload? Aerospace is looking for an RF Systems Engineer interested in applying current and emerging technologies to a vital space system. Aerospace provides premier engineering development support to satellite payload system and needs an engineer with broad skills to meet customer system performance and mission assurance requirements. If you have a passion for exciting work, working with an outstanding team and that will have a major impact on national mission area, you should apply for this Sr. Project Engineer position. 
Sr. Project Engineer to provide technical and programmatic support to the IPD Program Office in the areas of systems engineering and integration and test with emphasis on RF systems. 

 

KEY FUNCTIONS: 

  • Provide Aerospace support to analysis, manufacturing, integration and test at payload, sub-system, and component level. 
  • Lead and perform independent assessments of satellite payload systems and associated subsystems. 
  • Provide technical and programmatic assessments (e.g., technical risk, budget issues, schedule issues). 
  • Provide technical leadership and management of Aerospace resources in support of these duties. 
  • Participate in frequent interaction with customer, contractor and Aerospace personnel. 
  • Moderate travel is required. 
  • This position is based in Chantilly, VA

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related field from a recognized institution

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 12 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering experience
  • A background in RF and electronic systems
  • Experience with integration and test at the unit and subsystem level. 
  • Ability to work in a team environment. 
  • Initiative and leadership without direct management oversight. 
  • Customer-oriented and have excellent oral and written communications skills. 
  • Current TS/SSBI
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government.  U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Science, or related field from a recognized institution
  • RF hardware development experience
  • Experience with National space systems, and their associated missions 
  • Experience with spacecraft and satellite systems development.
  • Experience in systems development.
