Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a Project Engineer to provide technical support for a high interest adjunct payload acquisition in a fast paced on-site Program Office environment.

 

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Communicate/coordinate customer tasking to West Coast Directorate H program office and Engineering Technology Group (ETG) support personnel.  
  • Enhance the current teaming approach by coordinating the payload system, subsystem and interface assessments to proactively identify risks.  
  • Assist in formulating plans and activities to work off identified program risks.  
  • Coordinate/collaborate/synchronize program activities among East and West Coast Directorate-H program office and ETG personnel.
  • Responsibilities include all aspects of the design, development, production, integration and verification of a major adjunct payload.  
  • Position requires significant coordination and interaction with Government, Aerospace, Contractor and SETA personnel.
  • Moderate travel is necessary.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, science, or an appropriate technical discipline from a recognized institution

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering experience
  • Prior payload design, integration, requirement verification and payload testing experience
  • Program office or program management experience
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently, as a team leader and a collaborator with other Aerospace staff 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment on a daily basis.   
  • Current TS/SCI
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government.  U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • An advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, or other sciences 
  • A working understanding of the OPIR mission, OPIR phenomenology, FPA testing, manufacture and operation
