Responsibilities

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking an early career, entry-level Cyber Research Engineer located at in El Segundo, CA; Chantilly, VA; or Greenbelt, MD.

 

The qualified candidate will become part of the Cyber Acquisition and Validation Department. The Cyber Acquisition and Validation Department provide expertise in policy, assessment, integration, research and technology to address cyber threats through cybersecurity techniques, threat and vulnerability assessments, active countermeasures, and cyber resiliency. 
 

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Perform research in the areas of cybersecurity of both networked and RF systems 
  • Develop software for various platforms including embedded systems 
  • Understand and mitigate the security vulnerabilities in various software and hardware designs
  • Support multiple space systems customers
  • Develop prototypes to demonstrate various cybersecurity vulnerabilities

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Cyber Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 0-1 years of professional experience
  • Proficiency in multiple software languages
  • Ability to design and implement algorithms
  • Knowledge in the design and implementation of cyber security defenses for systems
  • Strong written and oral communications and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Cyber Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Active security clearance
  • Experience with commercial tools such as Splunk, Wireshark, Fortify, Checkmarx or similar tools
  • Experience in designing and implementing cybersecurity defenses for systems
  • Experience with RF lab equipment
