Responsibilities

The Associate Director of Classified Services is to act as a focal point for the architecting, implementing and maintaining of the corporation’s classified IT services. Based in the Chantilly, VA office, the  Associate Director manages a department of 3-5 direct staff, and will utilize matrixed personnel from other EIS organizations to orchestrate support for customer needs. The  Associate Director is also expected to act as a local managerial resource and advocate for EIS staff without onsite management.

 

 

 

Key Functions

  • Work with engineering and program office staff supporting classified efforts to understand requirements and address concerns
  • Work with EIS IT enterprise engineering office personnel to architect services
  • Work with other EIS organizations to implement technical solution
  • Work with the Comprehensive Maintenance and Operations Contractor personnel to deploy and maintain services
  • Act as a local managerial resource for all Chantilly staff without on-site management

 

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 12 or more years of increasing experience
  • Proven experience in planning, organizing, and developing IT technologies
  • Substantial exposure to data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, and outsourced systems, including cloud computing, platforms and systems as a service, high performance computing, Linux, iOS, and Windows
  • Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through day-to-day operations
  • Excellent understanding of project management principles
  • Superior ability to translate organizational goals and objectives into actionable implementation plans
  • Proven leadership ability, especially with management of resources outside your organization
  • TS/SSBI clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain one

 

Preferred

  • Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with IT operations in constrained environments
  • Considerable knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations
  • Experience in Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Project management or Agile product owner certification
  • Exceptional service orientation
