Responsibilities

Summary of Responsibilities
We are seeking a motivated and high-energy candidate to serve as the Advanced Demo Program Lead for cutting-edge demonstration space programs for resilience and space survivability.  The position is focused on lean, fast-paced acquisitions, challenging the status-quo and pushing the technology boundaries.  The position will work with the government and contractor team to develop risk reduction strategies, leveraging the Aerospace engineering matrix, analysis and testing. The candidate will be the primary interface for this critical program with significant responsibility, requiring flexibility, imagination, and dedication for these high risk programs.  The candidate will lead engineering matrix teams and provide critical guidance to the government customers in a range of technical areas including modeling to define key requirements, hardware development, and overall technology development. These high-profile demonstration programs are essential to key operational systems; as such, the selected candidate will have huge impact on major space systems.  

Key Functions

  • Lead Aerospace support to high risk demonstration programs
  • Identify, develop, and execute risk reduction programs using Aerospace engineering matrix, and successful coordination with contractor and government teams
  • Manage engineering matrix reach back units of technical effort and strategically plan overall Aerospace program activities
  • Provide regular communications with management and customer regarding program status and technology risk areas
  • Lead support to key system acquisition elements including source selections and milestone reviews
  • Mentor government customers in Aerospace system engineering processes associated with both mission assurance and risk reduction test/analysis
  • Oversee technical hardware development through the entire system engineering life cycle
  • Apply innovative solutions and engineering matrix expertise to solve difficult technology programs 
  • Occasional travel within the US is required

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in science, physics, mathematics, engineering or related technical discipline from a recognized institution
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in progressively more responsible roles
  • Experience developing and/or executing aerospace systems performance models
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using verbal presentations and written reports
  • Current Top Secret/SSBI/SCI.  Additional customer security requirements apply.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in science, physics, mathematics, engineering or related technical discipline from a recognized institution
  • Experience with leading projects of matrixed employees 
  • Knowledge of natural and man-made threats to space systems
  • Demonstrated ability to learn in new technical areas and manage engineering matrix teams across multiple disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a mixed team of government, SETA and FFRDC
  • Direct experience in developing new modeling, laboratory, or technology systems
  • Previous experience working on space hardware programs.
