We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to provide support to the Ground and Communication Division (GCD) within the Aerospace Corporation.  As a member of the administrative support team, you will provide direct support the 70+ staff and line management and back up support to the General Manager. GCD comprises three subdivisions in the Chantilly, VA area and other locations around the country.

Key Functions:

  • Provide general administrative support and ad hoc assignments as needed
  • Organize special functions and other events that may include catering, scheduling meetings rooms and maintaining calendars
  • Work with the Microsoft Suite of products by maintaining Excel-based data records, proofreading and formatting briefings and reports. 
  • Interface with the customer and Aerospace security to process personnel access and visit requests
  • Manage the General Manager's and other Staff calendars. 
  • Preparation of travel requests, expense reports, correspondence, weekly time cards, purchase requisitions, office supplies and other standard Aerospace forms in a timely manner



  • 6 years of relevant experience 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects at one time
  • Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational needs
  • This position requires a current TS/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government.  U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance


  • Knowledge of corporate policies, practices, travel and procurement
  • Experience working with mid-to-senior-level customers and government personnel
  • Experience in multi-discipline and classified environments and with multiple organizations across the corporation
  • Prior experience managing and coordinating travel and expenses
  • Experience with meeting planning and maintaining calendars using Microsoft Outlook

Physical Requirements/Work Environments

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use a computer to complete assignments
  • Ability to communicate with individuals and groups in person, by phone and telepresence
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will typically work in an office environment with or without windows
  • Some lifting
