The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to conceive, plan, analyze, and manage game-changing future space concepts. The Senior Systems Engineer will create and explore unimagined space architectures, systems, and technologies for the nation. In this exciting opportunity, you will join an elite research and development team guiding the program and technology investment portfolio for the future. 

Your work location will be in Albuquerque, NM. Relocation is available.  


Key Functions

  • Assisting the development and management of decision support processes, modeling, and analyses on architectures, systems, concepts, and technologies 
  • Assisting the development and application of portfolio management guidelines to system, concept, and technology programs spanning multiple organizations 
  • Leading multiple analysis teams and managing deliverables, schedules, and resources 
  • Interacting with Government customers and Aerospace management as a technical authority to conceive, develop, execute, and evolve integrated strategic objectives, plans, and roadmaps 
  • Applying and managing the matrixed personnel and the full technical resources of The Aerospace Corporation 



  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering or an appropriate technical discipline from a recognized institution
  • Current Top Secret/SCI clearance 
  • At least 12 years of progressively more responsible aerospace and systems engineering experience
  • Experience in any one or more of the following:
    • Analytic processes,
    • Modeling, and simulation for system engineering,
    • System architectures,
    • Space systems,
    • Technology development,
    • Or related fields 
  • Leadership of projects and small teams 
  • Ability to work effectively as part of government/FFRDC/contractor teams 
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills 
  • This position requires the ability to have and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government.  U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.



  • Advanced degree in science, engineering or an appropriate technical discipline from a recognized institution
  • Knowledge of The Aerospace Corporation's capabilities and resources 
  • Knowledge of Service and National Laboratories 
  • Expertise in mission or requirements decomposition 
  • Experience with communications and networking
